With the development of China's power industry, capacitor compensation devices have seen unprecedented growth, but this has been accompanied by a significant increase in capacitor accident rates, including severe group injury accidents. To prevent shunt capacitor accidents and ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power grid, the State Grid Corporation of China has formulated the "Measures for Preventing Accidents in High-Voltage Shunt Capacitors." It explicitly requires "regular measurement of the capacitance of individual capacitors in capacitor banks, recommending the use of measurement methods that do not require disconnecting the connecting wires, to avoid faults such as bushing oil leakage caused by stress on the bushings during disassembly and assembly of connecting wires."
This instrument is designed to address the problems encountered in measuring high-voltage shunt capacitor banks at substation sites, and is specially developed with reference to national standards such as GB3983.2-1989 "High-Voltage Shunt Capacitors," DL/T840-2003 "Technical Conditions for the Use of High-Voltage Shunt Capacitors," and JB5346-1998 "Series Reactors." It is mainly used for measuring high-voltage shunt capacitor banks and reactors in reactive power compensation devices.
