High current generator, also often called current booster or high current test device, is a special equipment that can convert input low voltage, small current electrical energy into low voltage, high current electrical energy. It is an essential tool for equipment debugging and performance testing in the power and electrical industry.
⚙️ Working Principle
The core principle of the high current generator is electromagnetic induction, which can be regarded as a special step-down transformer with adjustable turns ratio.
Input and Regulation: The device is connected to a 220V or 380V power frequency AC power supply, and the input voltage is smoothly and continuously adjusted through a voltage regulator (such as an autotransformer or thyristor voltage regulation).
Current Transformation: The regulated voltage is input to the primary winding of the step-up transformer (with many turns). According to the law of electromagnetic induction, the secondary winding (with very few turns, usually only one or a few turns) will induce a very low voltage (a few volts to tens of volts), but can generate a huge current (hundreds to tens of thousands of amperes).
Output and Measurement: The generated high current is output through large cross-section conductors and connected to the device under test to form a circuit. The built-in high-precision current transformer samples in real time and displays the current value on the instrument.
