According to State Grid Corporation of China, the big data center is the company's professional data management institution and a platform for data sharing, services, and innovation. It is responsible for professional data management, achieving unified operation of data assets, and promoting the efficient use of data resources.
State Grid stated that the data center is mainly to provide digital support for building a "three-type and two-network" world-class energy Internet enterprise.
Specifically, State Grid believes that the big data center will focus on the following tasks in the future: focusing on cutting-edge big data technologies and applications, making systematic plans and overall designs; breaking down data barriers, achieving efficient data application and value-added services, and providing platform support for power grid business and emerging businesses; strengthening collaboration with upstream and downstream partners, customers, government, and all sectors of society to build an international big data center for the energy industry.
At the 2019 work conference held at the beginning of the year, State Grid first proposed the new strategy of "three-type and two-network", which is to build a hub-type, platform-type, and shared enterprise, and to build and operate a strong smart grid and the ubiquitous electric power Internet of Things.
The strong smart grid is a strategic plan proposed by Liu Zhenya, former chairman of State Grid, in 2009. Over the past decade, the company has heavily invested in the "generation-transmission-transformation-distribution-consumption" links, and it has now been fully built and entered the final upgrading stage.
