1. Equipment Connection: With the power off, use the provided cables to connect the control box to the voltage doubler cylinder accordingly, then connect the ground wire, and finally plug in the power cord. Note: All ground wires of the control box, voltage doubler cylinder, and discharge rod must be connected to the ground of the test object collectively; they must not be connected in series.
2. No-Load Test to Check Equipment Integrity: Before starting the test,the DC high voltage generatormust first undergo a no-load test to verify equipment integrity. After confirming the connections are correct, plug in the power socket, turn the adjustment knob fully counterclockwise (the device has a zero-position protection function; voltage must be increased from zero, otherwise it cannot be raised), press the power switch, and the power indicator will light up. Wait a few seconds for the system to stabilize, then press the start button. At this point, the high-voltage indicator lights up, indicating that voltage can be increased. Slowly turn the output voltage adjustment knob clockwise, and you will seethe DChigh voltage generatorthe voltmeter reading gradually rise. Note: If the voltmeter reading does not change, immediately turn off the power and check whether the connections are correct. If it is a device malfunction, contact the manufacturer; do not open the instrument without authorization. After turning off, for safety, use the discharge rod to discharge the high-voltage terminal of the voltage doubler cylinder before disconnecting wires.
3. Shutdown: Generally, after the test is completed, before shutting down, the voltage must be adjusted to zero first, then press the stop button. The working indicator will go off, the power indicator remains on, then turn off the power switch, unplug the power socket, and use the discharge rod to discharge. If the above steps for the DC high voltage generatorare normal, the instrument is in good condition and can be used for testing. Note: Wait at least one minute before restarting.
4. Withstand Voltage or Leakage Test on the Test Object: After verifying the instrument is in good condition, attach the water resistor, microammeter, and test object to the high-voltage terminal of the voltage doubler cylinder. After confirming the connections are correct, proceed with the test following the voltage increase steps above. This device has overcurrent and overvoltage protection functions. If the high-voltage indicator suddenly goes out during the test and the voltmeter shows no high voltage, the protection circuit has been activated. Turn off the power, investigate the cause of the protection, and after troubleshooting, you can increase the voltage again for testing. The voltage increase rate should not be too fast; it is recommended to be 3-5% of the test voltage per second. For test objects with large capacitance, the current should not exceed 80% of the rated value.
