Insulation Resistance Tester
The insulation performance of electrical products is one of the important indicators for evaluating their insulation quality, which is reflected through insulation resistance.
The insulation resistance we measure for products refers to the insulation resistance between the live parts and the exposed non-live metal parts (shell). According to different products, a DC high voltage is applied, such as 100V, 250V, 500V, 1000V, etc., and a minimum insulation resistance value is specified. Some standards stipulate that for each kV of voltage, the insulation resistance should not be less than 1MΩ, etc. Currently, in household appliance product standards, usually only the hot-state insulation resistance is specified, not the insulation resistance under normal conditions. The insulation resistance under normal conditions is set by the enterprise standards themselves. If the normal-state insulation resistance is low, it indicates that there may be some hidden dangers or damage in the insulation structure. For example, if the insulation resistance of the motor winding to the shell is low, it may be caused by damage to the insulation of the slot wedge during winding insertion. When using electrical appliances, due to sudden power-on or power-off or other reasons, overvoltage occurs in the circuit, causing breakdown at the damaged insulation point, posing a threat to personal safety.
