For years, for those living in cities, turning on the light at dusk and watching TV at home is a commonplace occurrence. The brief darkness caused by occasional power outages might be unbearable for those accustomed to electricity. Many may find it hard to believe that in the rural areas of Wangmo County, there are still people living for years in a state where turning on an appliance causes the lights to go out. Oil lamps and candles are their lighting tools, and watching TV or using a washing machine simultaneously is impossible...

History has finally turned a new page: from 2016 to 2019, after the new round of rural grid renovation was implemented on schedule, all villages in Wangmo County finally bid farewell to darkness at night and use bright electric lights!

These precious scenes will forever be preserved in the hearts of our fellow farmers.

In recent years, with the improvement of living standards in the villages of Wangmo County, almost every household has adopted high-power appliances such as induction cookers, rice cookers, and water heaters. The existing 10kV line equipment has gradually aged and can no longer meet the increasing electricity demand of the villagers. Although villagers have added many appliances to their homes, they are like packaged scrap iron...

Over the past three years, Wangmo Power Supply Bureau has planned to invest 293 million yuan in the construction and renovation of the distribution network in Wangmo County, constructing and renovating 465.24 kilometers of 10kV lines, adding and renovating 657 distribution transformers with a total capacity of 70,515 kVA, and 1,066.53 kilometers of low-voltage lines. The projects for 2017 and 2018 were completed on schedule. By the end of 2018, the power supply reliability rate in Wangmo County was 99.8%, the voltage qualification rate was 98.8%, and the average distribution transformer capacity per household was 2kVA (now reaching 2.12kVA). These three major indicators have generally exceeded the national requirements.

"With this sudden surge of electricity, my heart is truly delighted; life will have flavor from now on." The joy of the villagers is beyond words, and each is planning for the future with electricity. Some villagers want to buy an electric mill, so that fellow villagers no longer have to travel up and down the mountain to grind grain!

A drop of water can reflect the sun. The above scenes are merely a small representation of the rural grid renovation that began in Wangmo County in 2016. Through these examples, one can see that since the implementation of the rural grid renovation, how many remote mountain villages in Wangmo County have bid farewell to the era of oil lamps and candles, and how many farmers who lived in hardship for generations have emerged from difficulties and started a happy new life. The praises from the masses are endless, and the image of Wangmo Power Supply Bureau as an enterprise has taken on a new look...
